Meaningful Use

In order to facilitate the extensive adoption of EHR (electronic health records) technology, reduce healthcare costs, and the healthcare system into the 21st century, the federal our government has made available stimulus funds to qualifying providers and hospitals that demonstrate "meaningful use" of certified EHR technology. If eligible, professionals could receive up to $44,000+ under the Medicare incentive program, whereas the Medicaid incentive program could receive up to $63,750+. This EHR incentive program will provide incentive payments to eligible professionals and eligible hospitals as they adopt, implement, and demonstrate meaningful use of certified EHR technology.

In order to start receiving from the incentive program, qualifying providers should begin reporting their "meaningful use" of EHR technology as soon as possible.
